My life story proves that life is hard but God is good. I have a hunch you don’t need me to convince you that life is hard.
Maybe that’s why you’re here.
Maybe you need assurance that God is good.
While I can’t answer all your “why God” questions, I can promise to be completely candid with you.
I have questioned God.
Doubted God.
Even yelled at God.
But I know that God works all things together for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose for them. (Romans 8:28)
So, how do we persevere when life gets hard?
“For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us so that through the endurance taught in scripture and the encouragement they provide, we might have hope.” — Romans 15:4 (NIV)
I am living proof that that the Bible is true! The lessons I have learned in Scripture have helped me to persevere, to stick to it when life gets hard.
I’m also living proof of where the Bible says,
“We boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, we also boast in our sufferings because we know that suffering produces perseverance, perseverance character, and character hope, and hope does not put us to shame because of the love that God has poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” — Romans 5:2-5 (NIV)
