The book of Proverbs is filled with wise sayings. Today we focus on two verses that speak of the benefits of loving and worshiping God.
There is no reason to cower in fear when you stand in awe of God. Proverbs 14:26 says that confidence and strength flood our hearts when we live in awe of God. Not only that, but our devotion to God also provides our children with security.
Proverbs 14:27 says our worship opens up a fountain of life and turns us from the snares of death. Worshipping God empowers us to escape the darkness of death and hopelessness. Hallelujah!
God has promised to be our strength when we are weak. (See 2 Corinthians 12:9.) We can depend on his strength to empower us when we feel powerless. Romans 8:10 says that “if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. Knowing this underscores why living as a lover of God keeps us strong and confident.
There is no reason to cower in fear when you stand in awe of God.
