Back in Episode 11 of the Believe & Speak podcast, I mentioned that Christian followers of Jesus have been adopted into God’s family. Therefore, believers have the right to claim the promises God gave to Jacob and to Israel.
Jacob was a patriarch of God’s “family,” the nation of Israel. Because we belong to that family too, we can apply the promises God gave to them. So today, as I read from the book of Jeremiah about Jacob and Israel, don’t just think of “them” think of “us.”
Verse 3 says, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” Do you believe that? Do you believe God has loved you (and will continue to love you) with an everlasting love? He has drawn you with unfailing kindness and will build you up again.
If we measure God’s love by our circumstances, we will ride a rollercoaster of doubt… like pulling petals off that daisy. “He loves me. He loves me not.” Stop and declare the truth that God will never stop loving you. You are loved. Now and forever. Always.
